Halloween Festival and Halloween Parade in New York City


On Sunday last week, it was the Halloween Festival in the United States. If you are living in the New York City, whether you are the citizens of the United States or not, you could join the Halloween Parade in the NYC, as long as you liked it very much. As a resident in NYC, I took part in the parade with my friends at that night. It was so fantastic a night that I want to share my experience with you guys.

Honestly speaking, Halloween Festival is one of the best festivals I like very much. Comparing with Thanksgiving, you do not need to go back to your home and reunite with your families; comparing with Merry Christmas Day, you do not have to send cards or join the Christmas activities with others. While for Halloween, you just need to go out and join the parade and become a member of them and enjoy the carnival.


For a long time, I like Halloween very much. One reason is that I can use Halloween costumes to pretend myself. If I like a beast, I can wear a beast costume to pretend myself and horrify my friends; if I want to be a prince, I can buy a prince clothes and pretend myself as the Prince in the fairy tale. Whoever you want to be, you can perform yourself as you like during the Halloween festival.  Moreover, it is so fun a festival that I can have a lot fun with my friends and classmates. Just imagine, they are not the person you are familiar with when they dress their costumes, so what will you feel? For me, I think it is totally fun, because it can help me to experience something new and know something that I do not know.

Also, the funniest thing you can do is to achieve your dreams in the Halloween night. If you are a guy, while you wanted to be a sexy lady, while due to some reasons, you could not turn it to be true, you can also pretend yourself to be a sexy lady with some female costumes. For some guys, they prefer to pretend themselves as sexy ladies, because it is so fun.


On Sunday last week, I was lucky to join the Halloween Parade in the New York City. When I arrived at there, it was almost begun. I joined the parade in a rush. Then I realized that people there had already dressed themselves, so I did it with the help of a new friend there. I pretended myself as a king in the Great Britain, which was so cool and welcome to my audiences there. At night, I was so happy all the time.

 On our way of the Halloween Parade in the New York City, I witnessed so many odd but cool costumes. Some of them were real ghosts; some of them were vampires; some of them were sexy ladies; some of them were Hollywood superstars; some of them were even princes. There were so various people that you just could not image. When you joined them, it seemed that you were living in another world which you had never been there before. But at this time, you were lucky to experience it with them.

It was windy on Sunday night, although I participated the parade with my friend, I finally left it at 9 o’ clock. At that time, I was so cold that I wanted to go back home and warm myself. My friends there were still parading on the way and they told me that I had missed something fun due to my leaving so earlier. It might be a little regretful for me, but I still believe that next year, it will be much more fun and I will enjoy myself when it finally comes.
