It takes guts to make a killer as a main character, and even the hero of a movie. The bet is not won and we are already sure of one thing: public EMOTION probably will not go. Yet the relationship conflicts are not absent, they are a touch unexpected in this movie. It is quite original. The emotion and love arrive at where we expect them, and that is why they just hit. But this is not enough to catch the audience, and even attract public action and reflection.

Physical conflicts are not very frequent in this movie. The plot is simple, and it is a bit funny for public to reflect it. The "philosophy" of the main character can attract the public. Nicolas Cage plays a character more ambiguous than it looks, and if you can believe in his character at the begining, you can gradually discover his loyalty. He is loyal to Ensign he received, his loyal to its sponsors, his loyal to his style of life ... but loyalty has a price.
Finally Bangkok Dangerous is an interesting film, because it deals with a subject unusual. But the main character lacks a little depth and the pace remains slow. A movie that moves so usual. At least, no conflict, it could not persuade any audience. It is pleasing to see whether we can accept a hero killer who is so cold.

In this spirit, Lord of War (with the same actor) was more radical, but more convincing. As for the orginaĆ shot of the film by the same filmmakers ... I look forward to one day to see a parallel between the two films.

As far as I am concerned, it is an interesting topic, but just flown over. It lacks the focus point. However, it remains very good.
